Winnipeg police are investigating what they described as a serious assault along Main Street Saturday morning.

Female taken to hospital in unstable condition, police say

Winnipeg police are investigating what they described as a serious assault on Main Street Saturday morning.

Yellow police tape stretched from the Manwin Hotel to the entrance of Main Street Project, near Logan Avenue, on Saturday morning. Multiple police cars were on scene along with members of the forensics unit. 

A police spokesperson told CBC officers were called to the scene just after 6 a.m. Saturday morning and a female was taken to hospital in unstable condition. The spokeperson could not give the victim’s age.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
