Winnipeg police are expected to release more information Wednesday morning about their investigation into an alleged drug network they say spans multiple provinces.

Insp. Elton Hall of the organized crime unit will speak at Winnipeg police headquarters Wednesday morning about a “large scale” investigation that targets a “high-level interprovincial drug network,” police said in a news release.

CBC News will livestream the news conference here at 11 a.m. CT.

Manitoba Justice Minister Matt Wiebe is also expected to speak at the event.

Police said in March that more than a dozen people had been arrested in connection with an organization crime investigation in Manitoba, Ontario and B.C.

At the time, Hall said the arrests were linked to drugs, guns and possibly human trafficking.
