Woman shot dead in Lake St. Martin First Nation

A woman is dead after being shot at a home in Lake St. Martin First Nation, in Manitoba’s Interlake region.

Incident does not appear to be random, RCMP say in news release

A woman is dead after being shot at a home in Lake St. Martin First Nation, in Manitoba’s Interlake region.

RCMP were called to the community around 9 a.m. and found the woman, who was declared dead at the scene.

The incident does not appear to be random, police said in a news release on Wednesday afternoon.

No information was provided about the woman’s age or whether anyone is in custody.

RCMP said more details will be provided when they are available.

Lake St. Martin First Nation is about 215 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.
