Child Sexual Abuse Imagery – Arrest: R24-38709

In August 2024, the Winnipeg Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit (ICE) was notified by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) after intercepting an international package destined for a Winnipeg address. The package contained a sex doll anatomically designed to appear to look like a pre-pubescent child.

With the assistance of the Counter Exploitation Unit, investigators commenced an investigation. As a result, a search warrant was executed at a residence of an adult male in the Silver Heights area on August 21, 2024. Numerous items, including various electronic devices were seized. With the assistance of the Technological Crimes Section, a forensic analysis of these devices is pending.

The male was arrested in relation to child sexual abuse imagery charges.

Information provided to investigators indicated that the male had imported similar items and children’s clothing between December 2022 and August 2024. 

On August 21, 2024, a 41-year-old male of Winnipeg was arrested and has been charged with the following offences:

–  Possession of Child Pornography

–  Imports, Distributes, Sells or Possess for the Purpose of Distribution

–  Make, Prints, Publishes or Possess for the Purpose of Publication any Child Pornography

He remains in custody at this time.
