Commercial Robbery – Arrests: C24-68245

On March 28, 2024, at approximately 7:15 a.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 1600 block of Ness Avenue for the report of a commercial robbery by an adult male and an adult female.

Attending West District General Patrol officers attended the gas bar and spoke with the employees, a 23-year-old male and a 29-year-old male, who advised they had been robbed at knifepoint by the suspects, who had since fled. The suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of Canadian funds and tobacco products. The victims were uninjured during the robbery.

General Patrol officers turned their investigation over to the Major Crimes Unit, which identified the two suspects believed to be involved in the incident.

On March 29, investigators arrested both suspects at a residence in the 500 block of Richmond Street without incident. Investigators recovered the stolen property and a large knife believed to have been used in the robbery. A 2010 Ford F150 was also located and seized by investigators.

A 52-year-old male and a 50-year-old female, both of Winnipeg, are facing Robbery charges and were released via undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
