On August 20, 2024, at approximately 6:50 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the 400 block of Maryland Street regarding a serious assault involving an adult male victim.
Attending officers located the male with serious injuries on the sidewalk, at which time emergency medical care was provided. He was transported to hospital in critical condition and later pronounced deceased.
Members of the Homicide Unit have assumed the investigation.
The deceased male is identified as Philip Daniel LACHOSE, 32. LACHOSE was a Chemawawin Cree Nation member but had been residing in Winnipeg.
Family notifications have been made.
