Motor Vehicle Collision involving Pedestrian: C24-117262

On May 25, 2024, at approximately 2:10 p.m., the Winnipeg Police Service responded to the report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the northbound lanes of Pembina Highway approaching McGillivray Boulevard.

West District General Patrol officers, assisted by members of the Auxilliary Force Cadet Unit, attended and assisted with traffic control as members of the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service provided medical care to the 19-year-old female pedestrian. She was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable.

The adult driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene of the collision and spoke with investigators.

The Traffic Division has assumed the investigation and determined the pedestrian ran in the path of the northbound vehicle and was struck as there was no time for the driver to avoid a collision. No charges are anticipated.
