Public Assistance Requested – Motor Vehicle Collision Involving a Pedestrian: C24-144928

On June 25, 2024, at approximately 11:50 a.m., members of the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian on Main Street and James Avenue.

It’s been determined that an 18-year-old female pedestrian exited a transit bus and attempted to cross the street. The pedestrian was walking in front of a south-facing bus when a vehicle, also travelling south, struck her.  

The vehicle failed to stop and exchange particulars. The victim was transported to hospital in unstable condition and later upgraded to stable.

Members of the Traffic Division were notified and continue to investigate. Investigators are requesting to speak to the driver. 

The vehicle is described as a Chevrolet Equinox. Please refer to an image of the vehicle below:
