Robbery Investigations – Arrest: C23-299934

On December 12, 2023, it was reported to the Winnipeg Police Service that a male suspect attended a discount store in the 2800 block of Pembina Highway, where he approached an adult female victim and asked for bus fare.  When the victim took out her purse, the suspect grabbed it and fled.  The suspect then used the victim’s credit card to complete multiple transactions, totalling over $4500.00.

On December 28, 2023, it was reported to the Winnipeg Police Service that a male suspect attended a drug store located in the 1100 block of Pembina Highway, where he approached an adult female victim and asked for bus fare. The victim took out her purse and began to look for bus fare. The accused then pushed the victim and grabbed her purse, causing her to fall to the ground. The suspect fled and used the victim’s credit card, totalling over $800.00.

On February 11, 2024, it was reported to the Winnipeg Police Service that a male suspect attended to the same drug store in the 1100 block of Pembina Highway and approached an adult female. The suspect asked for bus fare, grabbed the victim’s wallet, and fled.  

After further investigation, it was determined that in February 2024, two additional robberies occurred, one at a discount store in the 1300 block of Ellice Avenue and another at a mall in the 2000 block of Corydon Avenue. A male suspect committed robberies against victims who have yet to be identified. 

On April 16, 2024, a 26-year-old male was arrested and is facing the following charges:

  • Robbery x 3
  • Fraud Under $5000 x 2

He was released, as mandated by the Criminal Code.
