Winnipeg, MB – At 7:39 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in a vacant and boarded house in the 6000 block of Roblin Boulevard.
At the scene, crews found heavy smoke and fire coming from the house. Firefighters attacked the fire from the outside until they could safely switch to an interior attack. Firefighters declared the fire under control at 9:08 p.m.
Firefighters searched the house to ensure there was no one inside. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
If you see someone actively entering a vacant building, or removing boards from a building’s windows or doors, call 911 to report the incident immediately.
If you notice boarded windows or doors that have been breached, but you do not see someone actively entering or trying to enter the building, report the incident to 311 by phone or online.
