Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fire on Lincoln Avenue

Winnipeg, MB – At 3:52 p.m. on Thursday, October 17, 2024, Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews responded to reports of fire at a single-storey house in the 1400 block of Lincoln Avenue.

Smoke was coming from the structure when firefighters arrived at the scene. They launched an offensive fire attack and applied water to the fire. It was declared under control at 4:15 p.m.

Residents of the home self-evacuated before crews arrived on scene. They were displaced by the fire, and the City of Winnipeg’s Emergency Social Services team was called to help find temporary accommodations.

There were no injuries reported.

The structure experienced smoke, fire and water and water damage. Damage estimates are not available.

WFPS’ Accelerant Detection K9 assisted fire investigators at the scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
