Winnipeg, MB – At 1:48 a.m. on Thursday, April 11, 2024, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to a fire in a one-and-a-half storey house in the 600 block of Mountain Avenue. The fire was discovered and reported by an on-duty Winnipeg Police Service crew driving through the area.
Upon arrival on scene, WFPS crews were met with heavy smoke coming from the house. They entered the house and fought the fire from inside. The fire was declared under control at 2:30 a.m.
Crews completed a search of the house and no occupants were found. There were no injuries reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
