Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to fires on Alfred Avenue and Lexington Park

Winnipeg, MB – The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to two overnight structure fires on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

Alfred Avenue fire
At 12:22 a.m., WFPS crews responded to reports of a fire in a one-and-a-half storey, single family house in the 300 block of Alfred Avenue.

When crews arrived to the scene, they found smoke and flames coming from the house. They entered, and fought the fire from the interior. The fire was declared under control at 12:46 a.m.

Crews completed a search of the house and no occupants were found. There were no injuries reported.

The fire is under investigation. Damage estimates are not available at this time.

Lexington Park fire
At 3:27 a.m., the WFPS responded to a monitored fire alarm in a commercial building on Lexington Park.

Upon arrival at the scene, WFPS crews found smoke coming from the building. They launched an interior fire attack, declaring the fire under control at 4:12 a.m.

Crews completed a search of the building and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.

The fire remains under investigation at this time. Damage estimates are not available.
