Winnipeg, MB – Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) crews recently responded to fires on Toronto Street and Keewatin Street.
Toronto Street fire
At 9:54 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, WFPS crews responded to reports of fire at a two-storey house in the 400 block of Toronto Street.
There was smoke coming from the structure when firefighters arrived on scene. They launched a fire attack, using water and foam to put the fire out. It was declared under control at 10:06 p.m.
Crews completed a search of the house, and no occupants were found. No injuries were reported.
Damage estimates are not available at this time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Keewatin Street fire
At 1:34 a.m. on Friday, June 14, WFPS crews responded to reports of fire at a commercial building in the 800 block of Keewatin Street.
When crews arrived on scene, they saw large flames and heavy smoke coming from an outdoor storage yard. Firefighters found an outdoor fire involving building materials and immediately launched a fire attack using water and foam.
Crews brought the fire under control at 2:09 a.m. and stopped the fire from spreading to any buildings.
No injuries were reported. Damage estimates are not available at this time.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
