Winnipeg Public Library invites applications for the next Makers-in-Residence

Winnipeg, MB – Winnipeg Public Library is seeking applications for its next Maker-in-Residence.

The Maker-in-Residence (MiR) program connects library visitors with Winnipeg-based professional makers who have skills in visual/creative arts, technology, and/or digital media using tools available at Millennium Library’s ideaMILL makerspace. Makers-in-Residence should be passionate about making/creating, skilled in teaching and mentoring, and excited to work with people of all backgrounds and abilities.

Two residency opportunities are available and will run at the same time.

During their terms, the Makers-in-Residence will offer weekly drop-in open studio time at ideaMILL, providing the public opportunities to learn new skills and gain insight into the makers’ creative process. Each MiR will also conduct at least five scheduled public workshops.

The Maker-in-Residence terms will run for 16 weeks from September through December. Applications are due on Thursday, August 15, 2024.
