13-year-old youth charged after robbing St. Boniface business

A 13-year-old male, from Winnipeg has been charged with Break Enter and Theft – Place.

At approximately 10 p.m. on December 23, 2024, the Winnipeg Police Service responded to a commercial business in the 800 block of Elizabeth Road for the report of a Commercial Break and Enter.

The investigation was conducted by East District General Patrol officers. The Major Crimes Unit assumed and continued with the investigation and a suspect was identified.

Through investigation, officers learned a male youth suspect had entered the commercial business after breaking the window with a baseball bat. The entry caused approximately $4,000 worth of damage. The suspect stole approximately $500 worth of merchandise before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

On February 4, at approximately 9:30 a.m., the suspect, a 13-year-old male from Winnipeg was arrested without incident at Police Headquarters.

He was detained in custody.
