A 20-year-old male has been arrested following a robbery after getting off a transit bus late Tuesday night.
On November 19, around 10:36 p.m., police responded to the area of Lochmoor Avenue and Paterson Street for the report of an adult female who had been robbed.
The 21-year-old female sustained minor bodily injuries that did not require medical attention. The male suspect fled before officers arrived.
Officers learned through the investigation that the male had followed the female off of a transit bus near the above-mentioned intersection. Without provocation, the suspect began physically assaulting the victim while demanding her personal property. The female fell to the ground as her cell phone fell out of her pocket before the suspect grabbed it and fled the scene.
The suspect was quickly identified and police arrested him at his residence around 3:20 a.m. without incident.
The 20-year-old male is facing robbery charges and remains in custody.
