Three grocery store employees were hospitalized after being assaulted while at work Tuesday evening.
Winnipeg police say the incident happened at around 6:40 p.m., yesterday at the Food Fare on Portage Avenue near Arlington Street
When officers arrived, they found three men, aged 19, 22 and 46, suffering from upper body injuries. They were all transported to hospital and treated for their injuries.
The suspect a 17-year-old boy, fled before police arrived.
An investigation revealed that the suspect had attended the store earlier in the day and had been escorted out following an unrelated incident. The teen then returned, pulled out brass knuckles and began assaulting the three victims before fleeing.
Police quickly located the suspect in the rear of the 1000 block of Selkirk Avenue and arrested him without incident. Officers also found the brass knuckles in a nearby yard and seized them as evidence.
The 17-year-old male from Winnipeg is now facing several charges.
He was released on an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
