Three people were taken to hospital after an early morning fire at an apartment building in Winnipeg.
The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to reports of a fire in an eight-storey residential building in the 100 block of Hendon Avenue at 6:49 a.m. on Tuesday. Firefighters brought the blaze under control by 7:50 a.m.
Paramedics treated three individuals at the scene before transporting them to hospital in stable condition.
Emergency Social Services teams assisted residents who had to leave their units, while a Winnipeg Transit bus provided temporary shelter. Most residents were able to remain in their homes while crews worked.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and damage estimates are not yet available.
