7 arrested, 65 charges laid in child exploitation and human trafficking investigation: RCMP

The Manitoba RCMP is holding a press conference late Tuesday morning where they’ll give details on an investigation resulting in dozens of charges against seven people.

Mounties sent out a press release on Monday afternoon saying that the RCMP’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit executed a number of warrants and laid numerous charges in an investigation into child exploitation and human trafficking.

While the release did not stay where the arrests were carried out, an investigator from the Portage la Prairie RCMP will be attending the press conference to answer questions, along with Portage la Prairie’s Mayor, Sharilyn Knox.

The press conference will take place at Manitoba RCMP’s D Division Headquarters at 11 a.m.
