Firefighters rescue one from house fire, victim taken to hospital in unstable condition

A house fire on Aberdeen Avenue has left one person in hospital.

The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to the blaze at a one-storey home in the 400 block at 11:48 a.m. on Thursday, September 5.

When crews arrived, smoke was coming from the building. Firefighters entered the home but were forced to retreat when conditions worsened.

They then fought the fire from outside and brought it under control by 12:44 p.m.

One person was rescued from inside the house and transported to hospital in unstable condition.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and damage estimates are not yet available.
