Health and safety for Canada Post employees continues to be a priority for the mail service as employees resumed mail delivery and collection following the national strike.
With the temperatures dropping and snow across most regions, Canada Post is urging residents to make sure that there is a clear path to the delivery location. Slippery and dark walkways as well as seasonal decorations can pose a risk.
To help keep employees safe, make sure to remove snow and ice from the walkway, driveway, and mailbox. De-ice the stairs, entrance, and path to the mailbox using sand or salt. Make sure that the stairs, handrails, and mailbox are free of obstructions and in good repair. Turn on outdoor lights to make pathways and steps more visible.
