Winnipeg police have made an arrest in connection to a string of sexual assaults that took place between June and September in and around downtown Winnipeg.
The WPS Sex Crimes Unit took over the investigation this month, and after interviewing all eight female victims, they were able to link all for the assaults to one man.
On Sunday, with help from the Grand Rapids RCMP, investigators identified the suspect and arrested him at a residence in the 500 block of Sterling Lyon Parkway without incident.
A 27-year-old male from Winnipeg now faces nine charges of Sexual Assault and was released via an Undertaking as mandated by the Criminal Code.
The suspect and the victims were previously unknown to one another.
The Sex Crimes Unit continues to investigate.
