Manitoba Government announces new vocational wing as part of South Winnipeg Recreation Campus

A new vocational wing will soon be added at Pembina Trails Collegiate.

The $17-million investment is part of the expansion of the South Winnipeg Recreation Campus.

“South Winnipeg is one of the fastest-growing communities in Manitoba and our government is building the infrastructure families need,” said Consumer Protection and Government Services Minister Lisa Naylor. “We committed to a new recreation campus in south Winnipeg during the campaign and we are delivering. Today, we are moving ahead with the first phase, with a state-of-the-art vocational training wing for students that will form part of the campus.”

This new 19,000-sq.-ft. wing will open up options for students in south Winnipeg to learn skills in everything from culinary arts to machining to welding and woodworking.

Construction is expected to begin at the end of summer 2024, with completion in September 2026.
