Police look to speak to family who witnessed incident at city park

The Winnipeg Police Service wants to speak with a family that was present at Happyland Park on Friday evening.

The WPS says in a media release they received more than one report about a teenage female in distress near the riverbank around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, August 30.

She was located and transported to hospital for assessment.

Police say that although police have spoken to several people already, they wish to talk to a man and woman who were there around 6:30 p.m. with a child and two dogs. They believe this couple may have useful information to provide to the investigators.

Anyone present, including this mentioned couple, at Happyland Park during this timeframe is encouraged to call investigators in the Child Abuse Unit at 204-986-3296 or anonymously at Crime Stoppers 204-786-TIPS or winnipegcrimestoppers.org
