Motorists can expect to see more police officers on the streets of Winnipeg through the month of December, including New Year’s Eve with the Checkstop Program.
After the first week of running the program, 1219 vehicles were stopped, there were 12 roadside ASD warnings, nine roadside ASD fails, two criminal impaired driving charges, and 12 traffic offence notices.
The Winnipeg Police Service would like everyone to have a safe and enjoyable holiday season.
