Travel is difficult in much of southern Manitoba as thick fog is causing near-zero visibility on Wednesday night.
The Red River Valley and the Interlake are under a fog advisory issued by Environment Canada at 8:09 p.m.
The advisory includes Winnipeg.
Motorists on social media sites have reported fog so thick they can’t see a few car lengths ahead.
“Dense areas of fog are developing across parts of southern Manitoba Wednesday night,” the advisory says. “Visibility will improve late Thursday morning as the fog dissipates.
“Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations.
“If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.”
