Events in Winnipeg

Folklorama

  • August 4-17, all day

2024 Corydon Avenue BIZ concert series

  • August 2-3, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
  • Enjoy live music every Friday and Saturday along Corydon Avenue.

First Fridays @ the Manitoba Museum – Manitoba Museum

  • August 2, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Free general admission is available for the Manitoba Museum’s three core attractions, the Museum Galleries, Planetarium, and Science Gallery. No ticket is required for First Friday programming unless otherwise specified.

Movies in the Park at the Lyric Theatre

  • August 2, 6:30 pm and 8:45 p.m.
  • Watch a movie on the big screen at the Lyric Theatre. Elemental plays at 6:30 followed by Barbie at 8:45 p.m.

Garden Concerts at The Leaf in Assiniboine Park

  • August 3, 2 p.m.to 3 p.m.
  • Enjoy live music in the outdoor concerts at The Leaf every Saturday. Emma Worley will perform on August 3. 

Events outside the perimeter

The Icelandic Festival of Manitoba

  • August 2-5, all day in Gimli, Manitoba
  • Celebrate the Icelandic culture with events scheduled for the entire family. There will be a midway, rides, Viking village, art show, fireworks, and much more. 

Canada’s National Ukrainian Festival

  • August 2-4 in Dauphin, Manitoba
  • Held during the August long weekend, the Ukrainian Festival is a celebration of everything Ukrainian including dance, folk music, Borscht, Kobasa and Paska competitions, races, kid’s entertainment and more family fun.

Southport Manitoba Airshow

  • August 3-4, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Southport, Manitoba
  • Experience the thrill of the Manitoba Airshow with performances by military and civilian performers, static displays, and lots of family fun and entertainment for all ages.
