Winnipeg police seize illicit drugs and cash from homes in St. Boniface and Sage Creek

Over the summer, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Guns and Gangs began looking into the trafficking of illicit drugs within the city and recently made multiple arrests. 

Three suspects were identified through their investigation, with two linked to residences in St. Boniface and one in Sage Creek.

Last week, with help from the Tactical Support Team, a search warrant was executed at a home in the 500 block of Ritchot Street. Officers located and seized approximately 10 grams of Methamphetamine and approximately 3.5 grams of Cocaine. They also arrested a 38-year-old female. 

A second search took place at a residence in the 400 block of Ritchot Street, where officers located and seized a stun gun, a money counter, scales, vacuum sealers and packaging materials. A 42-year-old male suspect was taken into custody. 

The 42-year-old faces a long list of weapons-related charges, while the 38-year-old female faces a couple of possession charges. Both were released via Undertakings as mandated by the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, a third search warrant took officers to a residence in the first block of Des Hivernants Street North in Sage Creek, leading to the discovery of cell phones, a pair of Ray-Ban smart glasses and approximately $130 in Canadian funds. Officers also located an industrial garbage receptacle containing multiple laptops, approximately 155 Grams of Cocaine, approximately 36 Grams of Methamphetamine and approximately $5,000 CDN Currency.

A 41-year-old man was located within the home and arrested. He faces a long list of possession charges. He remains in custody.
