Manitoba school evacuated due to bomb threat

A high school in Manitoba has been evacuated due to a bomb threat on Tuesday.

The Hanover School Division said Steinbach Regional Secondary School was notified by RCMP of a bomb threat shortly before 11 a.m. The division said the school was evacuated and RCMP is on scene.

Students were moved to Stonybrook Middle School, where parents can pick them up early. Students who can’t be picked up will remain at the school until regular pick-up time.

An RCMP spokesperson said officers and firefighters are at the school and are investigating to determine the validity of the threat.

Residents are asked to avoid the area.
