Child dies after falling from 19th floor window in downtown Winnipeg

A four-year-old child died after falling from a high-rise apartment building in Winnipeg on Thanksgiving Day. The incident occurred at around 5 p.m. on Monday, when the child fell from a window on the 19th floor of a 20-storey building, according to police.

The building, Cumberland House, is located near the corner of Cumberland Avenue and Carlton Street in the Central Park neighbourhood. Emergency services rushed the child to the hospital, but the child was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

Police have classified the fall as accidental and confirmed that no arrests have been made. Further details, including the child’s sex, have not been released. Authorities say no additional information will be provided at this time.
