Collision claims life of female pedestrian

A female pedestrian was struck and later died after being struck by a passenger vehicle at the intersection of Notre Dame Avenue and McPhillips Street early Monday.

At shortly after midnight, police were called to the scene and Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service first responders attended and rushed the pedestrian to hospital in unstable condition. She later died from her injuries. The vehicle’s driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police investigation.

Winnipeg Police Traffic Division’s Collision Investigation Section has assumed the investigation and identified the pedestrian as a 32-year-old from Winnipeg. Her family has been notified of the tragic loss.

Police are investigating and are seeking help from the public.
