Dauphin RCMP make arrest after officer is struck by vehicle

Dauphin RCMP officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle Saturday morning at 2 a.m. at a business located on Main Street in Dauphin.

The driver refused to comply, striking the officer with her vehicle while fleeing south on Main Street. The driver proceeded to lose control of her vehicle and hit a snowbank.

Officers approached the driver, who refused to exit the vehicle, and placed her under arrest. The officer suffered only minor injuries.

The 40-year-old woman from Dauphin was arrested for impaired driving. A breathalyzer test determined she was driving after consuming twice over the legal limit.

The accused was later released from police custody for a court appearance scheduled for March 27, 2025, in Dauphin. She will face several charges for impaired driving and assault.

Dauphin RCMP continue to investigate.
