An extreme cold warning has been issued for all of Manitoba as of Sunday morning, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC).

The majority of the Prairies is experiencing a significant drop in temperatures, with extreme cold warnings affecting much of the region on Sunday. This cold snap is part of a prolonged period of severe wind chills affecting the province.
In Winnipeg, temperatures are expected to fall to -26 C on Sunday, totaling between -34 and -37 with the wind chill. By Monday morning, however, the wind chill is anticipated to make temperatures plummet to the mid -40s.
Northern regions such as Churchill are experiencing temperatures in the minus-30s accompanied by a wind chill of -50. In the southern areas, ECCC has indicated that certain regions may encounter wind chills ranging from -40 to -45.
Despite current frigid conditions, ECCC has predicted some respite from the cold in the upcoming week.
