EYE ON CRIME: Crime Stoppers asks for public’s help to find wanted man, assault suspect

Winnipeg Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help in locating a wanted person and the suspect in an assault on a Winnipeg Transit bus. To help generate tips, Crime Stoppers released photos.

Joseph Bonafe was arrested and charged with several criminal offences including sexual exploitation and luring a person under the age of 18 and then released with conditions as per the Criminal Code of Canada, Crime Stoppers said. Two Warrants to Arrest for Bonafe have been issued as he is accused of breaching the conditions of his release numerous times.

An unknown suspect was a passenger on a Winnipeg Transit bus on Selkirk at McGregor on Jan. 10, when he began to assault other passengers and then the driver of the bus before he fled on foot, Crime Stoppers said. The attacks were completely unprovoked and luckily the victims only suffered minor injuries.
