Winnipeg Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help to locate people who might have information about an attempted car theft and three people who coordinated their effort to steal a speaker from a store. To help generate tips, Crime Stoppers released photos.

On Jan. 9, a suspect entered the parking lot of a business in the 1300 block of Erin St while driving a stolen vehicle. Another vehicle in the parking lot was broken into, money was stolen and an attempt to steal the vehicle by tampering with the ignition was made. The vehicle’s owner returned while the suspect was trying to get the vehicle started. The suspect got out of the car and threatened to stab the owner with a knife before fleeing the scene.

On Dec. 21, 2024, three suspects entered a retail store in the 1000 Block of Taylor Avenue and once inside, the male suspect selected a speaker and made his way to the self-check-out, scanned the item and then attempted to leave without making payment. Two female suspects also went throught the self-check-out area at the same time attempting to distract the staff. One staff member was assaulted and all three suspects fled from the store.
