Five arrested after fight breaks out in vehicle during traffic stop

On Sunday night, a traffic stop led to a series of arrests on McGregor Street near Alfred Avenue after a fight broke out inside a Dodge Ram.

Winnipeg police pulled over the vehicle carrying five occupants, who soon began fighting with each other. Officers intervened, removing everyone from the truck to prevent the situation from worsening.

During the removal, police said they seized several items including a 12-gauge shotgun, a collapsible baton, and a small amount of crack cocaine, with an estimated street value of $220.

Following the incident, five individuals from Winnipeg were arrested and face multiple charges.

A 22-year-old woman faces charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm and possession of a weapon.

A 45-year-old man is charged with possession of firearms while knowing possession is unauthorized, possession of a restricted or prohibited weapon or ammunition in violation of a prohibition order (three counts), carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of cocaine.

A 48-year-old woman faces charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm.

A 38-year-old man is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm and failing to comply with a probation order.

A 31-year-old man faces charges of possessing a firearm while knowing it was unauthorized, violating a prohibition order (three counts), carrying a concealed weapon, and possession of a weapon.

All five individuals are in custody.
