According to a release from the Western Canada Lottery Corporation, Savage purchases his lottery tickets every time he stops to buy gas. Every time, his wife gets excited to scratch the Scratch & Win tickets each time.

This time, however, his wife was excited about more than just the scratching— the Gimli couple won $100,000 on the ticket.

“I only saw that we had matched four words on first glance,” he said. “She told me to look again!”

“We couldn’t believe it,” he continued. “We had to go back to the store to check on the machine to be sure.”

The Gimli winner said they were stunned by the win.

“We don’t have plans on how to spend it yet,” he admitted. “It’s been a whirlwind!”

“You hear of people winning but the feeling of winning yourself has left us just stunned!”

Savage purchased his winning Crossword Zodiac Tripler ticket at Circle K located at 83 Centre Street in Gimli.
