Learn how her dedication and professional growth has kept Best Care Dry Cleaners at the forefront of the industry. She has strived to continue a legacy of cleanliness and care for today and the future.

Best Care Dry Cleaners, a community cornerstone, was founded in 1970 by Tony and Irene Loscerbo. As a young immigrant family, the Loserbos wanted to start their entrepreneurial journey here in Winnipeg, and Best Care Dry Cleaners was born.

Growing up in the family business, Lisa Loscerbo was surrounded by beautiful clothing and developed a passion for fashion and keeping clothes impeccably clean. And who doesn’t love the smell of freshly cleaned clothes?

After graduating, Lisa pursued courses at the Dry Cleaning and Laundry Institute in Silver Spring, Maryland. Working alongside her parents, she gained invaluable knowledge and hands-on experience.

When focused on something other than business, Lisa enjoys cooking, baking, CrossFit workouts, biking, gardening, and travelling. She is busy. She’s an active member of industry groups like the Dry Cleaning and Laundry Institute, Methods for Management, and the Canadian Fabricare Association. Lisa has also held numerous roles with the Entrepreneurs’ Organization Winnipeg and the Winnipeg Executives Association.

“I haven’t always been great in business,” Lisa said. “It has been a journey of personal development and driving business growth. The best way for me to become great is to practice every day — practice makes progress.”

From a young age, Lisa was encouraged to learn about each position in the business and gain experience in customer service, production, sales, marketing, and financials.

Lisa’s journey with the family business began at 18 when she chose it over her passion for music.

“I shocked my parents with this sudden change of heart,” she recalled.

Over the next seven years, Lisa and her business partner Kevin navigated business evaluations, leases, legal discussions, raising young children, and transforming Best Care. In 2000, Lisa purchased Best Care from her parents, Tony and Irene, marking a significant milestone in her personal and professional growth.

Lisa’s curiosity and passion for improvement have served her well.

“Networking with other small business owners to hear their stories of struggle and success has been invaluable. She continued her studies and, in 2003, became Winnipeg’s only “Certified Professional Dry Cleaner” (CPD).

Best Care’s workplace culture has been described as a family. “We have a dedicated team that smiles, laughs, and sings while they work,” says Lisa. “Our staff are at the heart of our business, showing dedication through enthusiasm and teamwork. We believe in personal development and continuous growth.”

The Best Care team members participate in business groups, collaborate, and learn through courses and events. We realize our people are our best resources and investments, our production staff are cross-trained, and our supervisors engage in leadership training.

The pandemic forced Best Care to shift focus. “With fewer events and a change in work attire, we’ve had to think of new ways to stay current,” Lisa explains. Best Care now also focuses on household items like bedding and draperies and offers free pick-up and delivery. These services not only cater to the changing needs of our customers but also provide them with convenience and peace of mind. “Our routes continue to grow as more people work from home but still value saving time and having someone else take care of their clothing.”
