Man arrested after pointing rifle while using electric bike

Winnipeg Police responded to reports of a man on an electric bike pointing a gun near Isabel Street and Elgin Avenue on Sunday around 5:30 p.m. Officers located a man matching the suspect’s description at the rear of a residence in the 500 block of Elgin Avenue. He was taken into custody without incident.

During a search of the man and the surrounding area, police found a loaded Kriss Vector .22 calibre semi-automatic rifle with a magazine containing one round of ammunition. They also seized approximately 5 grams of crack cocaine, valued at an estimated $400, and about $2,700 in cash.

A 38-year-old Winnipeg man has been charged with multiple offenses, including possession of a prohibited firearm, possession of a loaded restricted firearm, possession of cocaine for trafficking purposes, and possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000. Police continue to investigate.
