Man charged after assault in restaurant on Tuesday

A 25-year-old man has been charged with aggravated assault and robbery after an attack inside the Burger King restaurant in Osborne Village, Winnipeg police said.

At about 10 a.m. on Tuesday, officers found a 45-year-old male victim who suffered a serious upper-body injury from a suspect he knew who fled prior to police arriving.

The man was taken to hospital in critical condition, which was later upgraded to stable.

On Wednesday, the suspect was located in the same area, the 200 block of Osborne Street and arrested. He was charged with two counts of failing to comply with a probation order and failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking, the man was detained in custody.
