Man injured, hospitalized after shots fired in Corydon area

Reports of gunfire on Wednesday night sent police rushing to the Corydon and Arbuthnot area in Winnipeg. Officers arrived on the scene and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds in the 700 block of McMillan Avenue. Emergency medical care was provided before the man, believed to be in his 20s, was taken to hospital in critical condition. Following treatment, his condition was upgraded to stable.

A firearm was recovered in the vicinity, and investigators say the shooting does not appear to be random. The Major Crimes Unit is investigating.
