Man, woman face firearms charges after caught with loaded 3D handgun in vehicle

A man and a woman face firearms charges after the pair was spotted with a 3D-printed handgun on Sunday evening.

At around 11:16 p.m., Winnipeg Police were called to the 1900 block of Ross Avenue West for the report of two people in an SUV with what was believed to a handgun, police said Monday.

Members of the Tactical Support Team (TST), along with the assistance of General Patrol officers, located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop where a loaded 3D-printed firearm was allegedly found within the vehicle.

A 40-year-old man and 34-year-old woman were charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded firearm and unauthorized possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon in a motor vehicle.

The man remains in police custody while the woman was released on an Undertaking per the Criminal Code.
