Agriculture Minister Ron Kostyshyn said the province is freezing the rates at 2024 levels to keep costs stable for Manitoba cattle producers.

The province first froze these rates in 2024 and the extension continues efforts to manage costs for agricultural leaseholders.

The government is extending the deadline for submitting appraisal reports and improvement cost applications for leases set to expire this year. Kostyshyn emphasized that the freeze demonstrates a commitment to keeping farming affordable for those working on Manitoba’s public lands.

Agricultural Crown lands are leased for grazing, haying, and annual cropping. These lands support Manitoba’s livestock industry and contribute to economic, environmental, and social goals in the province.
