The incident unfolded after authorities received a distress call at 1:25 a.m. Monday, indicating the children were no longer in safekeeping. The trio had been previously found at the Boissevain Port of Entry, unharmed, accompanied by their mother, a 55-year-old. She was taken into custody due to an outstanding warrant issued by Durham, Ont., Regional Police for child abduction, though she was later released when the warrant’s jurisdiction did not extend to Manitoba.

RCMP suspect the children may be in their mother’s company, who is believed to be driving a white 2018 Mercedes GLC with British Columbia license plate SJ975W. Authorities urge anyone with information on the whereabouts of the vehicle or the children to contact local police immediately. Tips can be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com.

The search continues as authorities work diligently to ensure the safe return of Leon, Christopher, and Thomas to their designated care.
