The program provides financial support to projects designed to help newcomers build strong connections and establish roots in the province.
Labour and Immigration Minister Malaya Marcelino said settlement services foster a welcoming environment for newcomers. She added that government is committed to supporting programs that assist in the social, cultural and economic integration of newcomers, helping them feel at home and thrive in Manitoba.
Applications will be assessed based on the organization’s track record, ability to address diverse newcomer needs, engagement with the existing settlement service network, and capacity to foster collaboration and innovation in meeting newcomer requirements. Funded projects are expected to complement the current settlement services and focus on Manitoba’s eligible clients who do not qualify for federally funded settlement programs.
The program aims to enhance the province’s support network for newcomers, ensuring they receive the necessary resources to integrate successfully into Manitoba communities. Organizations interested in applying are encouraged to align their projects with these objectives to maximize their impact.
