The initiative aims to bolster the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) across the province by offering financial incentives to residents who purchase EVs.

This initiative will play a key role in encouraging more Manitobans to choose electric vehicles, thereby advancing our collective efforts towards a cleaner and greener future,” said James Hart, President of ManitobaEV in a release on Wednesday. “We are delighted to see the introduction of the program.”

Under the program, individuals purchasing electric vehicles will receive financial rebates, contributing to personal savings, reducing their greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing air quality in Manitoba.

In its release, ManitobaEV said these EV incentives help promote sustainable transportation solutions and reduce the environmental impact of traditional vehicles. It also believes that electric vehicles are a crucial component of a more sustainable transportation system.
