Mother and daughter stabbed on Winnipeg transit bus

On Monday evening, a violent incident unfolded on a Winnipeg Transit bus near Portage Avenue and Valour Road that sent two to hospital.

Winnipeg police reported that a 40-year-old woman and her 16-year-old daughter were attacked with an edged weapon at 6 p.m. and officers found both victims suffering from injuries.

Police said the attack occurred after three suspects became involved in an unprovoked argument with the victims. The situation escalated the woman and her daughter were assaulted with the weapon. In addition to the assault, the victims were also robbed of their personal belongings. The suspects fled the scene before police arrived.

The victims were transported to the hospital, where they were treated for their injuries and later released.

Police are searching for three suspects. The first is described as an Indigenous woman in her late 20s, approximately 5-foot-1 with a medium build and wearing glasses. The other two suspects are described as female youths wearing dark clothing.
