The Child Abuse Unit took over the case on Jan. 31 and identified the man involved. After further investigation, police determined that while his behaviour was concerning, it was not an attempted child abduction. No charges have been laid.

Police thanked the public for their assistance, reminded caregivers to continue discussing safety with children, and encouraged them to report suspicious activity.
