Norway House RCMP searching for suspect after home invasion

Norway House RCMP are searching for 24-year-old Kendra Omand from Norway House after a home invasion on Monday morning at 4:20 a.m.

Officers were informed by the homeowner that he was awoken by two armed suspects knocking down the door. The two suspects were known by the victim.

A struggle between one of the residents and the male suspect ensued, the firearm was discharged by the suspect. Both the male and female suspect fled thereafter, leaving their weapons behinds.

There were two adults and six children inside the residence at the time of the incident. No one was injured.

Officers located the 29-year-old male suspect a short distance away. He was arrested and taken into custody without incident. The 24-year-old female suspect fled the scene.

The 29-year-old man from Norway House has been charged with 11 offences including breaking and entering with intent and careless use of a firearm.
